Good plans need good communication.
Proposing an activity makes you its organizer. Joining the conversation does not make someone a confirmed participant. Be clear about what is agreed, give notice when plans change, and respect each other’s time and privacy.
If you organize
- Describe the activity honestly. Explain the time, place, costs, entry requirements and any limits before asking people to commit.
- Make sure you can host what you proposed. Do not imply a venue partnership or guaranteed entry without permission.
- Tell confirmed participants promptly about changes. If you cannot host, cancel the activity and contact them directly; editing a page alone may not notify everyone.
- Respect consent, privacy and personal boundaries. Do not share someone’s contact details, messages or location without permission.
If you plan to attend
- Confirm the time, place and your attendance with the organizer. An “Interested” click is not a booking or an attendance promise.
- If you cannot attend after confirming, tell the organizer as soon as reasonably possible. Withdraw your interest if your plans change.
- Follow the agreed activity and venue rules. Do not harass people, pressure them to drink or pay unexpected charges, or arrive at a private gathering without agreement.
Changes and no-shows
A no-show concern requires an agreed time and place and confirmed attendance. An unfinished proposal, an “Interested” click, timely cancellation or a genuine emergency is not automatically a violation. If something changes unexpectedly, explain when you can.
Reports and proportionate action
Use “Report a concern” in the activity discussion to describe what happened. Include the agreement, timing, notice and person involved. Reports are allegations, not public ratings or proof of fault. We consider available evidence and, where appropriate, ask the other person to respond.
Depending on severity, repetition and context, confirmed violations may result in a reminder, warning, restrictions on organizing or communicating, or account suspension. Serious safety concerns may require protective restrictions during review. We do not impose automatic penalties based on report counts. Deliberately false or retaliatory reports can also be reviewed.
When we take action, we aim to explain the reason, scope and duration. You can respond or appeal at afterdark12678@gmail.com, quoting the report reference. Reporting does not itself block someone; use the separate block control if needed.
How reports are handled
Reports are sent to the AFTERDARK operator, Harry Hou, at afterdark12678@gmail.com. We collect the report text, activity reference, your account ID and your account email so we can investigate and contact you. The report is not published to members. Do not include passwords, ID documents, private home addresses or unnecessary third-party information.
During the current email-only beta, the form prepares a draft on your device. Nothing is submitted or stored by the report service when you prepare, copy or open that draft. You must send it yourself to afterdark12678@gmail.com; your chosen email provider and our Gmail inbox then process its contents and sender address. Account IDs in emailed drafts are self-reported and must be verified before relying on them. When online submission is enabled, Cloudflare stores the report and Resend sends the notification to our Gmail inbox. These providers process report information outside this page. Reports are retained for review and appeals; we review closed records for deletion within 180 days unless a documented legal or safety reason requires retention. Mailbox copies and provider backups may follow separate retention processes. Contact the email above to request access, correction or deletion.
An email draft is not a receipt. For online submission, an explicit saved-report receipt means the report was stored. An email-provider acceptance means the notification was accepted for sending, not that it has been read or delivered to the inbox. If sending fails, keep your reference and retry the notification or contact the operator.
Our current limits
This beta does not yet provide an approved attendee roster or automatic no-show detection. Confirm arrangements directly. Detailed activity information currently remains visible to signed-in members who can view the activity; do not publish private gathering locations. This platform cannot prevent someone entering a public venue, guarantee another person’s conduct, or replace emergency assistance. Reports are not monitored as an emergency service.
